About the department
In 1948, the Government decided to establish the Department of "Tractor Construction" within the Faculty of Mechanics of the Central Asian Industrial Institute, and engineers-mechanics in the "Tractor Construction" and "Agricultural Machinery" specialties began to be trained there. Associate Professor Alexei Nikolaevich Ninov was appointed the first head of the department. V.I.Sverdlin, K.I.Afanasev, L.M.Teplyakov, I.F.Lyubechansky, V.N.Shirokov, P.M.Gandzyura and others worked in the department during these years. Since 1955, the department has been called the "Agricultural Machinery" department.
The first head of the department is Assoc. Ninov A.N., teachers Gandzyura P.M., Sverdlin V.I. and teacher Osipov S.A. in field tests
In 1964-1977, professor of technical sciences, prof. Aslam Hamidovich Hamidov led. During this period, great scientific and research work was carried out on the mechanization of cotton cultivation, including the improvement of seed planting machines and the research of the energy of cotton picking machines. During these years, under the leadership of A. Hamidov, 4 members of the department - teachers V. G. Murashkin, R. Tolipov and graduate students P. Jumaniyozov, E. N. Mikhlin successfully defended their candidate theses.

Also, an educational experimental area of the department was established in the territory of Ohangaron district of Tashkent region. Later, in connection with the election of Azmitdin Sadriddinov to the position of dean of the newly established "Tractor and Agricultural Machinery" faculty, during 1983-1989, Ph.D., Assoc. Erkin Akbarovich Akbarov was the director and, together with the teachers of the department, made a great contribution to the development of the department, such as equipping a new building, creating educational and scientific experimental rooms, introducing new curricula and subjects.
In 1988, the Department of "Tractor Construction and Internal Combustion Engines" was established separately from the Department of "Agricultural Machinery". Until 1997, Prof. O'tkir Akhmedovich Ikramov was the leader. At this time, the educational activities of the department were provided with modern measuring equipment and computer techniques were used effectively.
In 1989-2005, he worked at the "Agricultural Machinery" department, Ph.D., Assoc. Anvar Doniyorovich Abdazimov was the director. During this period, the department successfully transitioned to a two-level higher education system and began training specialists in 2 bachelor's degrees and 3 master's degrees.
In 2005, the departments of "Agricultural machinery" and "Tractor construction and internal combustion engines" were combined and the name of the new department was changed to "Ground transport systems (agricultural machines and tractors)" in accordance with the undergraduate course. prof. Mahkamov Q.Kh. was appointed as the manager. Since June 2006, Associate Professor A.D. Abdazimov has been the head of the department. appointed.
