History of the Faculty of Industrial Pharmacy
We can say that the faculty of "Industrial Pharmacy" of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute is the fruit of our independence. Because independence created the need to establish new directions in the field for the rapid development of the pharmaceutical industry. In fact, in the first years of our independence, taking into account the importance of medicinal plants in folk medicine and the pharmaceutical industry, in 1992 the specialty "Agrobiotechnology" was established within the Faculty of Pharmacy of the Tashkent Pharmaceutical Institute, and on September 1, 1994, it was separated as a separate "Agrobiotechnology" faculty. The faculty trained highly educated personnel in the fields of biotechnology and agronomy. Later, the adoption of the National Personnel Training Program in our republic required a fundamental change and improvement of the pharmacist personnel training system in the field of education. This, in turn, became the basis for the establishment of a number of new educational directions and master's degrees at the institute. In particular, from the 2003-2004 academic year, as a result of the inclusion of the "Industrial Pharmacy" course in the "Classifier of Higher Education Areas and Specialties" and the introduction of personnel training for drug manufacturing enterprises, in 2003 On September 17, on the basis of the order of the institute No. 100, the name of the "Agrobiotechnology" faculty was changed to "Industrial pharmacy" faculty.

Graduates of these educational fields are expected to work in pharmaceutical companies. Training of qualified, competitive personnel capable of solving socio-economic, scientific and technical problems at a high level is a priority task for the Faculty of Industrial Pharmacy in our republic.
In a number of decisions, laws and orders of the President of the Republic and the Cabinet of Ministers in recent years, issues of increasing the production volume of medicines in our Republic have been raised. In the concept adopted on the priority directions of the economy, increasing the competitiveness of domestic drugs and increasing the production volume of export-oriented drugs on the basis of scientific and technical achievements and integration with the national economy, and increasing the health sector by 50% to provide local medicines, and for this, to establish the cultivation of medicinal plants in each region of our republic, at the same time, measures have been set to provide the pharmaceutical industry with highly qualified personnel.
Students studying industrial pharmacy and biotechnology at the Faculty of Industrial Pharmacy receive the qualification of technologist, engineer-technologist, specializing in the technology of ready-made drugs and phytopreparations. Graduates of the metrology, standardization, and product quality management course monitor the metrology and standardization of equipment at drug manufacturing enterprises and are responsible for the quality of drugs.
Currently, professors and teachers are teaching 1082 students at the faculty. After students study a number of general professional subjects in 2-3 years, including engineering subjects such as resistance of materials based on engineering graphics and applied mechanics, theory of machines and mechanisms and machine details, general chemical technology, basic processes and equipment of chemical technology, special courses in higher years. subjects: necessary specialized subjects such as production planning, equipment, industrial economics, molecular biotechnology, bioactive substances technology, drug standardization and quality management are taught. At this point, it should be mentioned that starting from the 2018-2019 academic year, a new specialty chair "Medicine standardization and quality management" was established on the basis of the faculty. Students who have completed the full course will become technologists, technologists for the pharmaceutical industry, specialists in the process of drug production, standardizing technological processes and managing product quality.
