The Final Stage of the International Student Surgery Olympiad is Underway
In 2025, the final stage of the XXXIII Moscow International Student Surgery Olympiad named after academician M.I. Perelman is taking place. Teams that won the regional rounds across eight federal districts of Russia, as well as teams from neighboring countries, are participating in the event.
Among them is the talented surgical student team "Heirs of Ibn Sina" from the Bukhara State Medical Institute named after Abu Ali ibn Sina.
These students, who are expected to become outstanding surgeons in the future, are competing in various surgical skills — from suturing blood vessels and intestines to performing complex manipulations using high-tech surgical equipment.
The work of these future surgeons is being evaluated by experts from leading surgical centers in Moscow and across Russia. These include specialists from the I.M. Sechenov First Moscow State Medical University, the B.V. Petrovsky Russian Scientific Center of Surgery, the Moscow State University of Medicine and Dentistry (MSUMD), and other institutions.
