The Faculty of Physics and Mathematics began its activity as a department of the Khorezm Pedagogical Institute in the 1935-1936 academic year.  In 1992, due to the reorganization of the Khorezm State Pedagogical Institute as the Urgench State University, there were changes in the structure of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics: first, the departments of the faculties were enriched in experienced specialists from central cities.

A new department "Applied Mathematics" was organized on the basis of the departments "Theory of Functions", "Computer Science and HT", "Physics" and "Algebra and Geometry", working in a new scientific and pedagogical direction.

The faculty was conducted by several professors and teachers, including in 1994-1996- Ph.D. A.B. Khasanov, in 1996-1999-Ph.D., Associate Professor O.I. Askarov, in 1999-2009 - Ph.D., Professor A.B. Khasanov, in 2009-2015 - Ph.D., Associate Professor B.I.Abdullaev and they made a great contribution to the organization of educational, scientific and scientific-methodical work at the faculty.

Since 2015, the dean of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics is professor Zh. Khuzhamov.

The Faculty of Foreign Philology was established in February 2019 on the basis of the former faculties “World Languages” ​​(until 2010), “Foreign Languages” ​​(until 2015) and “Philology and Arts” (until 2015) faculties. The faculty today is headed by docent Z. Jumaniyazov today.

Today, the faculty has more than 150 professors and about 3,000 students.

The following departments operate under the faculty:

• Romano-Germanic philology;

• Translation theory and practice;

• Interfuculty department of foreign languages.

There are 6 education spheres – Philology and language teaching: English, Philology and language teaching: German, Philology and language teaching: French, Foreign language and literature: English (based on Uzbek and Russian languages ​​of instruction), Translation Theory and Practice (2019), Guide and Translation Activities (2019) in which bachelors are prepared and Linguistics: English and Linguistics: German (2019) in which masters are prepared.

The scientific potential of the faculty today is 17%, including 1 doctor of sciences, 21 candidates of sciences and PhDs among the members of the faculty.

The faculty has done a lot of work on international cooperation and scientific relations with foreign countries. These include the British Council, KOIKA, Hugo Cultural Center, University of Norwich, Max Planck Institute, University of Mainz, DAAD, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, Goethe Institute and Galle institute. There are scientific and pedagogical cooperation with the University, Erasmus Mundus, the Embassy of India, Zaporozhe National University and other organizations. On the basis of cooperation agreements signed with these organizations, the faculty has a number of foreign specialists. Among them were U.S. volunteer Andrew Howard, Rebecca Martin, Peter Barsum (2015-206), Korean volunteer Joe Juheon, Che Hyun Rak (2014-2015), German Jurgen Asmus, Hans Passman (2017-2018). In the 2018-2019 academic year, American volunteer Mina Gavel, Korean volunteer Lim Jongmyung, German experts Wilhelm Rotman worked on German, Helga Lefelman on French. In particular, in the current 2021-2022 academic year, professors of Zaporozhe National University Derevianko Yulia Yuryevna, Tretyak Yulia Nikolaevna, Zahra Zarrati and Estella Eaton are conducting lectures and practical classes at the faculty on existing cooperation agreements within the English Fellow Program.

Another noteworthy work in cooperation with foreign countries is the translation into Uzbek of a two-volume book "Landwirt", aimed at improving the basic and professional knowledge of farmers and colleges specializing in agriculture in Germany in 2012-2014. A joint project with the University of Weihen Stefan in Germany and the Volkswagen Foundation has been implemented.

From 2009 to present, under the guidance of Masharipova Feruza, a teacher of English language and literature department, UrSU has awarded a grant for pedagogical assistance to schoolchildren, students of academic lyceums and professional colleges under the American program "Access Microproject". and operated until 2017, while the American STEM project operated under the faculty until 2018-2021.

The members of the faculty participated to improve their skills in prestigious universities in the United States, England, Germany, France, Belgium, Russia, Kazakhstan, India, China, Korea, and Malaysia.

Cooperation agreements have also been signed with higher education institutions of the Republic – Uzbekistan State World Languages University, National University of Uzbekistan, Andijan State University, Samarkand State Institute of Foreign Languages, Bukhara State University, Karakalpak State University. The organization of scientific seminars, conferences, publication of textbooks, dictionaries, student exchanges and other similar activities are carried out.

In the last 5 years, faculty members have published more than 1,000 scientific-theoretical and methodological articles in foreign, national and higher education, more than 50 textbooks, teaching aids and teaching aids.

The Faculty of Philology was first established in 1935 under the name of the Faculty of Uzbek Language and Literature on the basis of the Khorezm Teacher Training Institute. In recent years, the name of the faculty is Philology (until 2011), Philology and Art (until 2015), Philology (on the basis of Foreign Philology until 2019) and again as the Faculty of Philology.

In 1949 the department, which aimed to prepare the incomplete higher educated teachers from geography, chemistry, biology subjects, was opened in the Khorezm State Pedagogy Institute. This department was supervised by the assistant professor S.I.Izmailov and I.Karimov during the 1949-1959 years. The reading period was outlined for 2 years and at that time lots of educators, including S.I.Izmailov, I.Karimov, A.Khaydarov, P.Kamilov, Z.Karimova worked there. 
In 1967 natural science faculty which was aimed to prepare higher educated teachers was organized in KSPI. The faculty was led by the assistant professor S.Khujaniyazova, T.Ollaberganov, A. Sotliqov from 1967 to 1991 years and then it was ruled by R.Egamberdiyev and B.Sadikov. Higher educated teachers were prepared according to the specialities: biology, biology-chemistry, geography and biology-geography at the faculty. At that time nearly 500 students were educated at the faculty. 
S.Iskandarov, S.Khujaniyazova, G.Hojiqurbonova, B.Haqberdiyev, A.Matyaqubov, R.Egamberdiyev, B.Sodiqov, R.Hamzin, M.Eshchanov, P.Otayev were the experienced teachers who took the PhD and Candidate of Science degrees. Till the 1992 year, there were active academic chairs including, botany- soil science, chemistry, zoology, human anatomy and physiology and geography at the faculty. Those chairs were ruled by R.Egamberdiyev, B.Sodiqov, A. Matyaqubov, R. Qurbonniyozov, G. Satipov, B. Haqberdiyev. The professor teachers of the faculty did lots of scientific research works including, “Khorezm desert plants’ biologic features”, “Hydrobiology of basins in Khorezm oasis”, “ Economic- social problems of irrigated fields in Amu-darya region”. Numerous Scientific articles, monographs (by M.Eshchanov, B.Haqberdiyev) related to those problems were also published and dissertations were defended as well. 
After 1992, the chairs of the faculty were reorganized according to the requirements of time. From 1992 to 2006, Eshchanov R.A ruled the faculty. At that period, there were almost 50 professor- teachers. Two of them had PhD degree, 4 of them were professors and 18 of them had Candidate of science degrees. 
The collaboration between Urganch State University in Khorezm and Scientific center, researching the development, attached to the Bonn University in Germany (ZEF) and UNESCO were established under the leadership of assistant professor R.Eshchanov. The aim was to learn the demographic process, improve the economy and health of the population, make a big crop from plants, and use the soil and water resources in agriculture. The scientific research works of this project were planned for 10 years for 10 million euro. It was conducted by the co collaborations of Uzbekistan Republic Agriculture Ministry and the ministry of Higher and secondary-special education. The main financial resource of the project is Science and Education Federal Ministry of Germany; the extra financial funds are Science and Education Ministry of Nordrayx-Westfallen state and Academic personnel exchanging organizations of Germany. According to the ZEF project, laboratory furnitures, equipments, and 8 cars were given to Urgench State University in order to do the project tasks. In addition to this, 5computers (2 800 000 soum), 1 scanner and printer (200 000 soum), an armchair (100 000), furniture costs 600 000 soum, 15 chairs (275 000 soum) were presented with budget. Geographic information system center was organized as well and all necessary equipments were carried from Germany. 
Since 2006, under the leadership of Ruzimboy Eshchanov, there is an opportunity as a for the students who has bachelor degree in biology, agronomy, geography and economics to continue their Masters degree in Vaynshtein University in Germany. 
In order to do the research according to the requirements of time, optical fiber virtual laboratory “For the drying lakes of Africa, Middle East and Central Asia” was organized on UNESCO and other partners’ accounts. This laboratory is being used nowadays for accepting the information and passing it on, doing distance teaching and scientific research, making video conferences, including 3 international video conferences: Urgench- Bonn, Urgench- Olmaota, Urgench- Navoi. 
On June 7-8, 2005, International scientific practical conference named “Economical and Ecological Developing of the system using water resources in low Amu- darya region” was held with the co-operations of Urgench State University and ZEf UNESCO Project. 
From 2006 till 2008 year Sh. Qodirov was the instructor of the faculty.

From 2012-2013 study year, license is taken for "Cartography works" from The Republic Government patent office. 
Agronomy Science olympiad organized in Tashkent city. Student of The Urgench State University Natural Science faculty 201-group took the 3 rd position. The Faculty of Chemical Technology was separated from the Faculty of Technology in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Higher and Secondary Special Education dated March 18, 2017 No. 156 on the approval of the Charter of Urgench State University.

The Faculty of Chemical Technology has 3 departments and prepares bachelors and masters in the following areas:

The faculty has 45 qualified professors and teachers who teach students using modern information technologies and new pedagogical technologies. Of those, 30 are full-time and 13 are part-time. There are 2 doctors of sciences, 1 honorary professor of the university, 14 candidates of sciences and 3 senior teachers in the faculty.
A total of 1,028 students are enrolled in the above areas of education in the 2021-2022 academic year, of which 569 are boys and 459 are girls.

The high level of production development in Khorezm region is closely linked with the training of qualified personnel with higher education, in particular, engineering technologists. In order to train qualified technologists, the faculty of Tashkent Polytechnic University was established in 1992 by the decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan as part of Urgench State University. Subsequent studies of Khorezm students studying architecture, chemical technology and engineering at various universities in Tashkent were transferred to him.

In the past, the department has created a strong system of training competitive personnel, that is, to conduct the educational process on the basis of modern requirements. The material and technical base of the department has been strengthened. The department has 10 departments that meet all the requirements - "Basic technological processes and devices", "Technology of silicate and refractory mirrors", "Food Technology", "Biotechnology", "Technology of storage and primary processing of agricultural products" , "Methods of physical and chemical analysis", "Automation and automatic control of production". It has become a tradition to conduct training sessions on the basis of modern pedagogical technologies. From 1998 to 2011, the scientific potential of the department increased dramatically. The number of candidate and doctoral defenses has increased. In particular, in 1998 SB Bakhtiyorov, in 2003 ZK Babayev, in 2004 IR Bayjanov, in 2005 ZM Quryazov, in 2007 Sh.K. From 1994 to 2011, the department has established regular contacts with leading universities and research institutes of the world and the Republic. In particular, as a result of cooperation with the Royal Swedish Institute, graduates of the department Masharipova Shoira, Allaberganova Inobatlar graduated from the institute. As a result of cooperation with the University of Paris, France, dots. ZK Babayev returned for a two-month training. Students conduct internships at prestigious research institutes of the Academy of Sciences of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and young scientists conduct research. All of our graduates are employed in various industries in the region. The Faculty of Physical Culture was established on September 2, 1999. From 1999 to 2006 Professor G.M. Satipov, from 2006 to 2009 Associate Professor U.L.Matnazarov, from 2009 to 2019 Associate Professor A.K.Sharipov served as dean of the faculty. From 2019 to the present, Associate Professor S.U.Kupalov has been working as the Dean of the Faculty of Physical Culture. Initially, when the faculty was formed, 3 departments were part of the faculty; Department of "Human Anatomy and Physiology", "Theory and Methods of Physical Education" and "General Physical Education". In 2011, the Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology was renamed the Department of Fundamentals of Medical Education and the Department of General Physical Education was renamed the Department of Physical Education and Sports. The Department of Human Anatomy and Physiology (Fundamentals of Medical Knowledge) was founded in 1999. At the Department of General Physical Education (Physical Culture and Sports) in 1999-2006 Associate Professor U.L.Matnazarov, in 2006-2009 Ph.D. V.Sh. The name of the department was changed from September 2015 to the Department of Interfaculty Physical Culture and Sports, and until September 2020, the department was headed by Associate Professor B.J.Yadgarov. The name of the department was changed in September 2020 to the name of Sports Activity and is headed by Associate Professor F.T.Masharipov.
Since 2020, the faculty has two departments: "Theory and Methods of Physical Culture" and "Sports Activity". Initially, the faculty prepared 5141900 bachelors in full-time and part-time departments in the field of physical education and physical culture. In 2005, the specialty 5A141901 - Physical Education and Physical Culture Education was opened and 6 masters were admitted to it. From the 2011-2012 academic year, bachelors in 5112000-Physical Culture Education were accepted. From the 2013-2014 academic year, in order to develop physical culture and sports in remote areas, to train female coaches for local girls to go in for sports, the Faculty of Physical Culture of Urgench State University will conduct 5610535 sports activities (development of women's sports). The students were admitted to study. Based on the needs of staff in children's and youth sports schools, secondary schools, colleges, newly built sports complexes in Khorezm region, students of this field of study are divided into 4 sports: Judo, Athletics, Volleyball , Focused on handball sports.

The Faculty of Physical Culture is currently training qualified teachers and coaches in the field of physical culture for general secondary schools, academic lyceums and vocational colleges, sports schools for children and adolescents. From the 2001-2002 academic year, the faculty moved to a newly built academic building. The new building has a modern gym, classrooms and fully equipped facilities. The faculty building was included in the PQ-1533 program and was renovated in 2014.
All facilities are created for students to play sports during and after school hours: 2 large gyms (18x36), one football field in the open field, athletics treadmill, long jump field, 2 core races. there is a dog pitch, 2 artificial turf mini football, 1 basketball, 1 volleyball court, 1 tennis court and 1 gymnastics court. In particular, the classrooms for sports games and theory and methodology of physical culture in the educational building are adequately equipped with visual aids and instructions, electronic boards and projectors. The faculty has all the conditions for professors to conduct the educational process on the basis of new pedagogical and information technologies. The faculty has 1 computer and 1 language room, all computers are connected to the Internet and texts of lectures, textbooks and manuals on the subjects specified in the curriculum are entered in electronic form.
The Faculty of Physical Culture has published 5 monographs, more than 10 textbooks and more than 100 scientific articles. In addition, professors and teachers of our faculty are actively involved in fundamental, practical and innovative projects. In 2012-2013, the faculty under the State Science and Technology Program under the leadership of Associate Professor A.K.Sharipov conducted an innovative project on IOT-2012-1-22 - "Innovative technologies to improve the professional training of physical education." As a result of the research, 5 scientific articles, 1 textbook, 1 monograph, 1 electronic manual were published.
From 2006 to 2012, a total of 11 faculty members defended their PhD dissertations in pedagogical sciences on the basis of independent research. In 2020, senior teachers of the department "Theory and Methods of Physical Culture" N.K.Ruzmetov and J.Sh.Jammatov on the basis of independent research 13.00.04. - Successfully defended his doctoral (PhD) dissertation in pedagogy, specializing in the theory and methods of physical education and sports.
In order to carry out a high level of physical culture, sports and public health at the University, to effectively address all the tasks set by the state in this regard, to increase the popularity of sports among students and staff to further strengthen the successful conduct of the Universiade and other sporting events In 1999, the student sports club "Student" was founded on a community basis. Athletes of our university are the main part of the national team of our region at the Universiade. During 1999-2020, the faculty produced more than 10 masters of sports of international class, more than 100 masters of sports and hundreds of candidates for masters of sports. Muradjan Kholmuradov participated in the XXX Summer Olympic Games in London in 2012 for the first time, and by 2016 the number of participants has increased. D.Urazbayev, Sh.Sabirov, G.Matniyazova took part in the XXXI Summer Olympic Games in 2016 in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). Diyorbek Urozbayev won a bronze medal in the weight category of 60 kg in judo. About 10 student-athletes of our faculty are successfully participating in high-level training sessions and international competitions for participation in the XXXII Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo in 2021.

The Faculty of Economics was founded on July 9, 1995 as a Faculty of Economics in the result of joining Faculty of Humanities of Urgench State University and Urgench Branch of the Tashkent State University of Economics.

        The head of the faculty is the doctor of economic sciences, professor Abdullaev Ilyos Sultanovich. There are 4 departments in the faculty, including the head of the department "Economy" Ph.D. Associate Professor Rahimov Tuxtabek Jumabaevich, the head of the department "Management and marketing" Ph.D. Associate Professor Ruzmetov Sherzodbek Bakhtiyarovich, the head of the department "Tourism and hotel Management", Ph.D. Associate Professor Ollanazarov Bekmurod Davlatmurodovich, the head of the department "Accounting and audit", Ph.D., Associate Professor Fayzullaev Nurulla Bahromovich.

At the faculty, about 100 professors and teachers teach students using modern information technology and new pedagogical technologies. There are 3 doctors, 17 candidates of sciences, 6 senior teachers and more than 70 teachers at the faculty. The Technical Faculty is one of the main faculties of the university preparing architects and engineers. Students of the faculty A. 电信技术学院根据2018年9月3日第595号命令在以穆罕默德·花剌子密命名的塔什干信息技术大学乌尔根奇分校成立。

根据2020年9月2日第78n号命令,学院名称由“电信技术与职业教育学院”更名为“电信技术学院”。

2018–2019年期间,学院院长为Khikmat Jumanazarovich Rakhimboev。
2019–2020年期间,院长为Nodirbek Egamberganovich Avezov。
