The faculty of primary processing of cotton was established in 1932. Currently, the faculty is called the Faculty of Industrial Technologies and Mechanics (STMF). Departments of "Preliminary processing of fibrous materials", "Mechanical engineering", "Labor protection and ecology", "Automation and software engineering" are operating within the faculty. More than 2,000 students study at the faculty. 87 professors and teachers of the faculty, including 16 doctors of science - professors, 41 candidates of sciences - associate professors, 19 senior teachers, 11 assistants provide effective education and training to them.

The team has set big goals, full implementation of the tasks of the second-quality stage of the "National Personnel Training Program", that is, strengthening the material and technical and information base of the faculty's departments, making the educational process high-quality. providing educational literature and advanced pedagogical technologies, creating textbooks, study guides for academic lyceums, vocational colleges, preparing electronic textbooks, as well as improving the effectiveness of teaching, the institute main tasks such as employment of graduate students are defined.

In order to enrich their knowledge, qualified professors and teachers of these departments, along with teaching their knowledge and experience to students, conduct scientific research in cooperation with prestigious higher education institutions of Latvia, Italy, Russia, South Korea and other Asian and European institutions. is going
